Spark F1 Models – detail from a specific race

Spark is a resin collectable model brand founded by Hugues Ripert. It started with 24 Hours of Le Mans cars and today also covers Formula 1, GT and rally. Resin pays off even in small runs, which is why Spark makes models from individual Grands Prix, including special liveries and test cars.

What you will find

  • 1:18 scale: Alex Albon's Williams FW45 and Pierre Gasly's Alpine A523 from the 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix, Sergio Pérez's Red Bull RB19 from the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes W13 E from the 2022 Belgian Grand Prix.
  • 1:12 scale: Max Verstappen's Red Bull RB19 from the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix – a large premium piece.
  • 1:43 scale: Robert Kubica's Alfa Romeo C42 from 2022 testing and a Mercedes W12 set of Hamilton and Bottas from Abu Dhabi 2021.
  • 1:64 scale: Valtteri Bottas's Alfa Romeo C43 (2023).
  • History: Johnny Cecotto's Toleman TG184 from the 1984 Monaco Grand Prix.

What to keep in mind

Spark excels in fine detail: thin antennas, an elaborate steering wheel, photo-etched parts. Resin is more fragile than metal, though, and the models have no opening parts, so handle them with care and display them in a closed cabinet or the original box. For a sturdier diecast model of a current season, see Bburago F1 Models; the full range is in Formula 1 Models. Spark helmet models (1:5) are in F1 driver helmet models.

Frequently asked questions

What is resincast?
A model whose body is cast in resin instead of metal alloy. Production pays off even in small runs, so models of individual races and drivers are possible.

Is Spark or Minichamps better?
Spark tends to be stronger in fine detail and range, while classic Minichamps models are diecast, heavier and more durable. It depends on what you expect from the model.
