Nicky Hayden – merch in memory of #69
This collection is dedicated to Nicky Hayden, the American MotoGP world champion remembered by fans for his fighting spirit, modesty and number 69.
The Kentucky Kid
Hayden came from Kentucky, hence the nickname the Kentucky Kid. He arrived in MotoGP in 2003 with Repsol Honda and won the world title in 2006 – beating Valentino Rossi by just five points in a gripping battle. He later rode for teams including Ducati and ended his career in the Superbike World Championship. In May 2017 he was hit by a car while training on his bicycle near Rimini; he died of his injuries on 22 May 2017, aged 35. MotoGP retired number 69 in his honour.
What you will find
- Cap: a curved-peak cap with number 69.
- T-shirts: a black 69 logo T-shirt and a women's logo T-shirt.
- Accessories: a large 69 sticker pack and a keyring shaped like his helmet.
The 69 logo is still one of the most recognisable symbols in the MotoGP paddock, worn by fans at races around the world.
