The most reliable way to choose the size of F1 and MotoGP team clothing is your chest circumference and the chart of the specific manufacturer – not the team, and not the size you wear from other brands. Puma, Castore and Adidas each have their own chart, and the same letter (say M) does not mean the same measurements. Below is an overview of the official manufacturer charts, how to measure and how each brand fits.
Who makes which team's clothing
A team collection is always made by one sportswear manufacturer, so it follows that manufacturer's sizing. Our range of 100% genuine clothing includes these manufacturers:
| Manufacturer | Teams in our range (selection) | What to go by |
|---|---|---|
| Puma | Scuderia Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin, BMW Motorsport, Porsche Motorsport | Puma conversion chart + fit details on the product page |
| Castore | Oracle Red Bull Racing, Repsol Honda (MotoGP) | body measurements in cm (chest, waist, hips) |
| Adidas | Mercedes-AMG Petronas, Audi | body measurements in cm |
| New Era | caps and beanies of F1 teams, e.g. Red Bull | head circumference in cm |
The manufacturer is stated in each product's name or description. If in doubt, check there – last season's team kit may have come from a different brand.
How to measure yourself
All charts below list body measurements, not garment dimensions. Puma and Adidas describe measuring in practically the same way:
- Chest: keep the tape horizontal around the fullest part of your chest.
- Waist: at the narrowest point – according to Puma about two fingers' width above the belly button – with the tape horizontal.
- Hips: around the widest part of the hips and buttocks, feet together.
- Sleeve length (Puma): from the centre of the back just below the neck, across the shoulder and down to the wrist, arm slightly bent.
- Shoulder width (Puma): across the back from the top of one shoulder to the other.
Measure over a T-shirt or bare skin and do not pull the tape tight. For T-shirts and hoodies, chest circumference is what matters.
Castore size chart (Red Bull Racing, Repsol Honda)
Castore publishes body measurements in centimetres. Men's chart according to castore.com (as of October 2026):
| Size | Chest (cm) | Waist (cm) | Hips (cm) |

| S | 91–96 | 77–82 | 91–96 |
| M | 96–102 | 82–88 | 96–102 |
| L | 102–107 | 88–93 | 102–107 |

Castore junior sizes are based on height: JS 128–137 cm (age 8–9), JM 137–147 cm (10–11), JL 147–158 cm (12–13), JXL 158–170 cm (14).
How Castore fits
Castore team shirts are technical garments. For the 2026 Red Bull Racing replica shirt, the manufacturer's product page lists a lightweight four-way stretch fabric, moisture wicking and mesh side panels. Fabric like this sits closer to the body than classic cotton – if you prefer a looser fit, consider the next size up.
Puma sizes (Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin, BMW)
Puma's European size guide does not list circumferences in centimetres, only conversions between size systems. Men's (and unisex) sizes correspond to German sizing as follows:
| Puma | XS | S | M | L | XL | XXL | 3XL |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DE / FR | 40–42 | 44–46 | 48–50 | 52–54 | 56–58 | 60–62 | 64–66 |
Unisex models and women
Many Puma team shirts are unisex. Puma states that these are based on men's sizes and recommends women choose their usual size for a loose fit, or one size smaller for a regular fit:
| Unisex / men's | Women's – regular fit | Women's – loose fit |
|---|---|---|
| S | XS | S |
| M | S | M |
| L | M | L |
| XL | L | XL |
| 2XL | XL | 2XL |
How Puma fits
Puma states the fit and the model's height for individual products. For example, for the Scuderia Ferrari HP replica tee the manufacturer lists a regular fit on puma.com, with a 186 cm tall model wearing size M. This is a useful guide if you do not know your measurements.
Puma kids' sizes
Puma labels kids' clothing by height in centimetres: 128 (age 7–8), 140 (9–10), 152 (11–12), 164 (13–14) and 176 (15–16). Kids' models are in the Scuderia Ferrari kids’ collection.
Adidas size chart (Mercedes, Audi)
Men's chart for shirts and tops according to adidas (body measurements in cm):
| Size | Chest (cm) | Waist (cm) | Hips (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 83–86 | 71–74 | 82–85 |
| S | 87–92 | 75–80 | 86–91 |
| M | 93–100 | 81–88 | 92–99 |
| L | 101–108 | 89–96 | 100–107 |
| XL | 109–118 | 97–106 | 108–116 |
| 2XL | 119–130 | 107–119 | 117–125 |
| 3XL | 131–142 | 120–132 | 126–135 |
Adidas states that all its charts for T-shirts, shirts and jackets follow the same rules. Shop the Mercedes-AMG Petronas and Audi collections.
Comparison: how size M differs
Size M shows clearly why you need to look at the specific brand's chart:
| Manufacturer | Men's M – chest | Men's L – chest |
|---|---|---|
| Castore | 96–102 cm | 102–107 cm |
| Adidas | 93–100 cm | 101–108 cm |
| Puma | no cm circumferences in the European chart | |
Someone with a 101 cm chest is at the top of M with Castore, but already at the bottom of L with Adidas.
New Era caps: head circumference
New Era makes caps for a number of F1 teams. The cap type decides:
- 9FORTY (adjustable): one size for a head circumference of 55.8–60.6 cm according to the New Era chart.
- 59FIFTY (fitted): e.g. size 7 = 55.8 cm, 7 1/4 = 57.7 cm, 7 1/2 = 59.6 cm, 7 3/4 = 61.5 cm, 8 = 63.5 cm.
How to measure according to New Era: place the tape in the middle of your forehead (where the sweatband sits), about 2.5 cm above your eyebrows, and keep it level around the widest part of the back of your head. Measure twice and use the larger number; if you fall between sizes, round up. Find caps for example in the Red Bull caps and beanies collection.
MotoGP: Castore and other manufacturers
MotoGP is more varied. The Repsol Honda and HRC clothing in our range is made by Castore, so the chart above applies. Clothing of teams and riders such as Ducati Corse, Valentino Rossi / VR46 or KTM Red Bull comes from other licensed manufacturers that do not publish a common chart. For these products, go by the size stated on the product page and your chest circumference; if you have a question about a specific item, feel free to contact us.
Practical tips
- Choose by the manufacturer's chart, not by team or by your size from another brand.
- Technical team shirts sit closer to the body than cotton fan T-shirts.
- For children, allow for growth and choose the larger size.
- Manufacturers update their charts from time to time – this overview reflects October 2026.

Frequently asked questions
Which size should I choose if I am between two sizes?
For technical team shirts cut closer to the body, the larger size is usually the safer choice. If you want a looser fit, chest circumference is the deciding measurement – compare it with the chart of the specific manufacturer, not with the size you wear from another brand.
Is a Puma size M the same as a Castore size M?
Not necessarily. Each manufacturer has its own chart: Castore lists a chest of 96–102 cm for men's M, Adidas 93–100 cm. Puma's European size guide does not give circumferences in centimetres, only conversions between size systems (men's M equals German 48–50).
Are team shirts unisex? Which size should a woman choose?
For unisex models Puma states that sizing is based on men's sizes. It recommends women choose their usual size for a loose fit, or one size smaller for a regular fit (e.g. women's S corresponds to unisex M). Castore and other brands publish a separate chart for women's models.
How do I find my New Era cap size?
According to New Era, adjustable 9FORTY models are one size for a head circumference of 55.8–60.6 cm. For fitted models (59FIFTY), measure your head about 2.5 cm above the eyebrows and around the widest part of the back of your head; if you fall between sizes, New Era recommends rounding up.
How do I choose the size of a kids' shirt?
Kids' sizes from both Puma and Castore are based on the child's height. Puma labels sizes directly by height in centimetres (128, 140, 152, 164, 176), while Castore gives a height range for junior sizes (e.g. JM for 137–147 cm). If your child is growing fast, choose the larger size.
